Teenedge.com was launched in April of 2003 (4/14 at 4:14 PM). Middle Tennessee teenagers, with the guidance of Oasis Center and Mayor's Office of Children and Youth, decided upon everything from its colors to its content. Even now, teenagers maintain and operate the site.
Below are the teens in the Teenedge.com Internship Program (TIP).
The TIP (or teenedge internship program) is the backbone of teenedge.com. Members of this high school board apply to be on the team and are charged with making teenedge.com what it is. You don't have to be a TIP member to submit articles to teenedge.com. Members apply to this board as journalists, public relations representatives, and webmasters. Applications are available online April of each year. Contact us to inquire about any volunteer opportunities.
The mission of the Teenedge.com Internship Program is to establish teenedge.com as Nashville's online resource for teens. We will strive to be recognized as a highly respected website with fresh, consistent, and relevant content. We are dedicated to encouraging the youth of Nashville to become more informed and involved throughout the community while providing a good online experience.
